Roderick Smith Mr. Roderick Smith, age 43 of Danbury, died suddenly Thursday, February 19, 2009 in Danbury Hospital. Mr. Smith was born June 30, 1965 in Danbury. son of William H. Smith of Waterbury and Catherine (Chesney) Smith of Danbury. He was educated in the Danbury School System and attended Western CT State University where he majored in computer science. He was employed at Optical Care Eye in Danbury for several years. He loved his family and enjoyed cooking for family gatherings. He is also survived by his step-mother, Canarie Smith; stepsister, Bertha Adams; stepbrother, Lee-ira Gary, all of Waterbury; six uncles three aunts; and other relatives. He was predeceased by a brother, Gary Smith and three stepbrothers. Service will be at 12 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Mount Pleasant A.M.E. Zion Church, 69-71 Rowan St., Danbury.
